  Sakura has been the go-to sushi restaurant for myself and my friends for a couple years. I was a sushi newbie and the food at Sakura had me hooked immediately. We like the variety on the menu, and a few of the rolls are to die for. However, the last two times I visited were not good experiences. In March my friends and I met for lunch. The table was sticky and the seaweed salad did not taste as fresh as normal. The edamame was chewy and overcooked. Again this past Wednesday (Apr. 19) my friend and I arrived for lunch. We sat and looked around the restaurant which was empty except for us, although to be fair they had just opened. Sadly the entire restaurant looked dreary and in need of a deep cleaning. Again the table felt sticky. Nevertheless we ordered drinks and began our order. My friend used the washroom and came back stating that it stank and was quite dirty so I went and had a look. Well she was right - upon the restaurant opening the washroom should be clean! The sink hadn't been wiped off since who knows when, and the toilets were in dire need of a scrubbing, the evidence of that was clearly visible from the bathroom door if you get my drift. My friend and I did not feel comfortable eating there so we left immediately and went to another sushi restaurant for lunch which was clean and bright, the food tasting very fresh. Sakura, we are willing to give you another chance, just clean the place up!

  It is probably my favourite place in Chatham to get sushi. But i suggest going for dinner, there is a much better dinner menu
